Installation failed at 86 per cent on Configuring Toolbox

Hello,

I tried again and again to install syncfusionessentialstudiowebinstaller.exe or syncfusionessentialwindowsforms (with the most complete uninstallation possible with Revo Uninstaller, trying to launch as Admin... etc. but each time it freezes, at 86% without error message, when configuring the toolbox. I use Visual Studio 2022 Community and Syncfusion Winforms. Thank you if you can help me.

Hi Joelle,

We are also encountering this issue in the latest version of Visual Studio, and we have created an MSDN forum to follow up on this matter. You can track the progress using the following link:

Toolbox Configuration Issue updating to Latest Visual Studio 17.13 - Developer Community

Additionally, Microsoft is also investigating this issue. You can find more details here:

After VSIX(Extension) installation devenv.exe process hangs during registration starting from VisualStudio 2022 17.13 Preview 3 and 17.13 Preview 4 - Developer Community

As of now follow the below steps to fix this issue:

Step 1: Reinstall the Syncfusion Installer

  • During installation, uncheck the option "Configure Syncfusion controls in Visual Studio" to bypass this step.

  • Proceed with the rest of the installation as usual.

Step 2: Manually Configure Toolbox from Toolbox installer Utility

  • Once installed, click the Launch Control Panel.

  • Click Add On & Utilities and click Run Toolbox Installer

  • It might still appear stuck on loading. Wait for 10 to 15 minutes, then close the window.

Step 3: Verify Toolbox Controls in Visual Studio

  • Open Visual Studio 2022 Preview and check if Syncfusion Toolbox Installer is listed under Extensions > Manage Extensions.

  • If it is installed, go to View > Toolbox and check if the toolbox controls are available.

Step 4: Reset the Toolbox (If Controls Are Missing)

  • If the toolbox controls are not configured:

    1. Right-click inside the Toolbox window.

    1. Select Reset Toolbox.

    2. Wait for about 10 minutes for Visual Studio to reconfigure the toolbox.

    1. Now, Toolbox will be configured.

Let us know if you need further assistance.
