Support for Windows 7 Syncfusion 2025 Volume 1 release to demand .NET 8

VB WinForms TreeViewAdv.

I use Syncfusion TreeViewAdv in my program.

I have installed: Syncfusion Reference Manager, Syncfusion Toolbox Installer, Syncfusion Troubleshooter, Syncfusion.Menu.Common, Winforms Extensions - Syncfusion.  At the moment, my program supports Windows 7 and above (64bit).

Syncfusion announced, "With the 2025 Volume 1 release, we will discontinue support for .NET 6.0 and 7.0 in WinForms, WPF, WinUI, and Document Processing Libraries. Please plan to upgrade to .NET 8.0 or higher."

.NET 8 seems to support only Windows 10 and 11.

Is there any way I can decline to upgrade my Syncfusion extensions or otherwise keep my program able to run in Windows 7+ by sticking with .NET Framework 4.8?

Thank you.

Hi Bruce Halpern,

As .NET 6.0 and 7.0 are no longer supported, we strongly recommend upgrading to .NET 8.0 for continued support. Please note that we will not provide support for .NET 6.0 and 7.0 moving forward. On Windows 7, you can use our 4.6.2 assemblies for the application built with .NET Framework 4.6.2 or higher (4.8).
