false Version-Number for new Essentail Studio 2023 Volume 2 ?

Hi,

last week i was happy, i see in the newsletter (22.06.) a new Version is out 👍

But i wonder, why is this a new Major-Version ... it's only a new Volume Number.

last year:

2022 Vol 1 -> 20.1.*

2022 Vol 2 -> 20.2.*

now:

2023 Vol 1 -> 21.*

2023 Vol 2 -> 22.* (?)

Can this explain?

many greetings

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

From 2023 Volume 1 release, we have updated the versioning system of Essential Studio to the semantic version format standard. Therefore, the major version increases with each volume release. (Which will contain new features, breaking changes, etc.,)

Release Notes: https://help.syncfusion.com/common/essential-studio/release-notes/v21.1.35

Please refer to the documentation below for the assembly version format.

https://help.syncfusion.com/common/essential-studio/assembly-information#assembly-version-format

Weekly patch releases after the Volume 1 release

We will increase the patch versioning.

We will increase the minor version for service pack release.

Overall, the licensing behaviors remain the same, you should upgrade the license key on each major release upgrade.
