SfDataGrid Master Detail Hangs/Freezes during Cell Click events

Dear Syncfusion Support Team,

I'm currently using the SfDataGrid Master Detail to bind a nested dataset (Header > Detail > SubDetail) with cell click events at Detail and SubDetail nested levels.

Attached is a simple test program to simulate the application hang/freeze-up scenario when a Detail cell is clicked after expanding the Datagrid to SubDetail level.

Please refer to the SFDataGrid Master Detail Cell Click Event Issue.docx in the zip file for more details on how to simulate this issue.

We have analyzed your reported issue “Application hang/freeze-up scenario when a Detail cell is clicked”. This issue occurs only when showing MessageBox in CellClick event of DetailViewDataGrid and works fine for parent grid. In default, when an MessageBox is shown, we can’t perform any UI action before closing the MessageBox. It seems that application hangs up due to MessageBox is shown and hidden immediately in DetailsView case, so we could not close the MessageBox to proceed further on UI. Currently, we are checking this scenario, we need one more business day to validate this issue. We will provide complete details on December 19, 2019.

We have confirmed the reported issue of “Application hang/freeze-up scenario when a Detail cell is clicked” as a bug. This issue occurs due to MessageBox is hidden behind form when showing from DetailsViewDataGrid event alone. We will fix the issue and include this in our next 2019 Volume 4 Service Pack release which is expected to be release by first week of February 2020.
