Challenge and Solution

The digital needs of the nonprofit organization Tony Ricci consults for grew beyond the functionality of its current controls. Ricci needed to update an intranet app and several websites with more sophisticated ASP.NET MVC and JavaScript components, but it had to be done within the nonprofit’s small budget.

After a thorough search, Tony Ricci concluded that Syncfusion’s Essential Studio® had, by far, the most robust collection of third-party tools available. His favorite tool is the DataGrid control.

The scheduling solution Ricci’s organization was using before upgrading required members to manually download and sort data, and if something in the database changed after a dataset was downloaded, they’d have to start all over again. Therefore, they are especially fond of the DataGrid control’s versatility in viewing, sorting, and filtering data in real time. According to Ricci, the ease the DataGrid control has brought to this process is “a huge cost and time savings.” Members also appreciate the ability to export that data to multiple formats on the client side.

The organization’s status as a nonprofit also meant that it couldn’t hire someone full-time to manage its websites and databases. The availability of Syncfusion’s support team meant it didn’t need to.

“We were amazed at the customer support,” said Ricci. “Instead of hiring someone, we can just open a ticket.” And they’ve always been “highly satisfied” by the results.

For the future, Ricci is working on a new mobile site for the nonprofit. Since the initial set of ASP.NET MVC controls already has a built-in responsive design, the first pass at using the site on tablets and phones worked great without any extra work.

“I would highly recommend the Syncfusion web controls,” said Ricci. “They’re great.”
