Our third Essential Studio® volume release of the year has brought exciting updates to our award-winning suite, including a variety of enhancements across our existing controls, as well as some interesting new ones, such as a powerful data grid for Windows Phone. However, the focus of this release has been improving our enterprise mobile development tools and adding LightSwitch compatibility to several of our controls.
Line-of-business applications can be daunting regardless of the audience, especially with mobile devices in mind. Whether you are developing for your employees or for customers, you don’t just want your app to work—you want an impeccable UI, fast loading times, and attractive aesthetics that set it apart. That’s why our JavaScript controls—the only JavaScript controls built specifically for enterprise—were created with client-side interactions in mind, complete with striking grids and charts, and innovative approaches to those vital UI components.

It’s also why we have enabled LightSwitch compatibility as an extension to some of our most popular controls. These Syncfusion control extensions greatly enhance a LightSwitch application’s appearance and functionality, a time-saving benefit to developers and end users alike. For example, our DataGrid extension provides extra features like grouping, filtering, sorting, and resizing, and is compatible with our Chart control for even more visualization options. Extensions are also provided for adding Microsoft Office themes and Windows shell navigation to your applications.
WinRT Grid users will now be able to use nested grids and incremental loading to improve performance and better organize large data sets. The Diagram control for WinRT has also completed beta testing, and is ready to use with your next touch-enabled project.

Other updates include the addition of interactive chart series and data points to the Chart control for WinRT, Windows Phone, WPF, and Silverlight. The Schedule control for WinRT, WPF, and Silverlight now includes sub-resources to speed up processing, and the use of Adobe PDF portfolios has been enabled in Essential PDF so you can organize your files more easily. In addition, our Windows Forms controls now include radial sliders and gauges to help visualize your data on any scale.
