Google account password recovery not working

Google is pretty good at providing its users with ways to recover their data, Gmail password recovery is a breeze if you provided enough security information during account registration.

The first thing you want to try is the Google account recovery page. Choose the "I don't know my password" option and enter your Gmail address, click Continue.

If you've linked a phone number to your Gmail account, you can request a verification code to be sent to you in a text message or you can answer security questions in the "Verify your identity" section.

If you forgot your email address and didn't set up any recovery information, such as a phone number or security questions, you can still find your username if you recently used your email account in your web browser. Look in your inbox or Gmail web browser history to see if it reveals your address. Technically, your full email address or the first part before the @ character is your username.

In case you don't have access to your email, phone, or other recovery option, you can still recover Gmail password by manually verifying your identity. The first thing you need to do is visit the Google account recovery page. When you're there, enter your email address and click "Continue." Click the "I don't know" option for the password and choose the "Verify your identity" option, which is a very small link below all the other available options. Answer all the questions to the best of your ability, and if you can provide the information that is accurate enough, you will have a successful Google account recovery.

With work Google, G Suite, or Google Apps accounts, it may be easier to restore access to your account, since you can always contact your domain administrator to reset your password and recover your account.

To protect your account, we limit the number of times you can attempt password recovery via email, SMS, or Account Recovery form. Google temporarily disables a particular account recovery option after too many incorrect attempts. The recovery option will be re-enabled on the date indicated below that recovery option.
