We have been working on Metro-style controls that can be integrated in the Windows 8 consumer preview. We have several innovative new controls for the Metro platform that we are developing. We will also have Metro-style implementations of the controls available for our desktop platforms. These Metro applications will also greatly benefit from our newly released Metro Studio icon package, a library of more than 600 vector images that will help developers create attractive, customized Metro-style interfaces without having to spend hours designing. Another area we are excited to be working with in Windows 8 is the ability to deliver rich Web-based, Metro-style applications from ASP.NET MVC through our Mobile MVC controls. Our unique native-wrapper-based solution (codenamed OneBase) for Mobile MVC will be implemented for Windows 8 also. Our Metro-style components and the Mobile MVC components will also be compatible with the Windows Store.
It’s an exciting time to be involved in mobile development, especially now that we’re seeing the speculations made a decade ago actually coming true—mobile devices are being used to find restaurants, pay for meals, and then post food reviews online. That’s a lot of power in a little machine.
Gartner predicts that by 2016 at least 50 percent of enterprise users will rely on Web-based e-mail or a mobile e-mail client instead of a desktop client. As a result, software application development targeting mobile devices will also increase dramatically in the coming years.
During the month of February, Syncfusion reached out to our fans on Facebook to have them tell us why they love Syncfusion products! We asked our current users to post their success stories on our wall. At the end of the month, we chose a random post to win a Kindle Fire. The lucky winner was John Carroz!
