Research Triangle Park, N.C.— February 22, 2018 – Syncfusion, Inc., the developer solutions company of choice, is pleased to announce the winners of the 2017 Succinctly Readers Award, recognizing readers’ favorite titles published in 2017 as part of the Succinctly series—a library of free, technical publications.
With a total of 3 million downloads since its inception in 2012, the Succinctly series has had more than 900,000 downloads in 2017, including 33 titles in 2017 that were eligible for voting. In December, Syncfusion polled its developer community to vote on their favorite titles. Xamarin.Forms Succinctly by Alessandro Del Sole is the Gold Winner, receiving the most votes, followed by the Silver Winner, ASP.NET Core Succinctly by Simone Chiaretta and Ugo Lattanzi. The third-place Bronze Winner award went to Angular 2 Succinctly by Joseph D. Booth.
When notified that he had won, Del Sole responded, “my initial reaction was of surprise, since the Succinctly series offers many interesting books. Summarizing a development technology is never easy, so the biggest challenge was selecting the right topics and the proper contents for each topic. I think I was able to provide a good overview of Xamarin.Forms.” According to Del Sole, Xamarin as a topic resounds with readers because it is a framework that allows Microsoft developers to build apps for iOS, macOS, and Android in C#, maximizing code reuse.
“We are honored to work with such talented industry experts on the Succinctly Series. These authors have a unique ability to take complicated topics and create compelling summaries that allow readers to learn about the latest technologies,” said Daniel Jebaraj, vice president of Syncfusion. “The Succinctly Readers Award allows us to celebrate our writers and provide them with the recognition they deserve for attracting the most reader interest in a given year.”
More about the Succinctly Series
The primary tenet of the Succinctly series is to provide clear, concise information in approximately 100 pages, allowing readers to quickly acclimate to and become practitioners of new technologies.
Syncfusion published the first Succinctly series title in 2012 in an effort to alleviate developers having to hunt through lengthily documentation, numerous articles, and disparate blogs to get essential information. The series is designed to supply readers with books written by developers well-versed in a given topic. All titles published in the series are free.
Over the years, Syncfusion has published 140 titles in the series, gaining more than 600,000 readers worldwide, generating more than 3 million e-book downloads.
