Syncfusion announces Essential Suite 3.0 for Microsoft .NET

Three new products and several key new features added to existing products.

Research Triangle Park, NC - October 20, 2004 - Syncfusion, Inc. today announced Essential Suite version 3.0, the next generation of its popular .NET components for Microsoft Visual Studio .NET developers. Essential Suite version 3.0 adds several new products and provides major enhancements to existing products.

New products include Essential HTMLUI, a 100% .NET HTML display engine that can be used for the creation of extremely flexible user interfaces; Essential Calculate, a full fledged, stand-alone formula engine with over 150 commonly used formulas; and Essential PDF, a full featured .NET library that can be used for the creation of Adobe PDF files.

Essential HTMLUI showcases Syncfusion's unique "Flex-Layout" declarative display technology for the creation of completely declarative HTML user interfaces. Stefan Hoenig, CEO of Syncfusion, Inc. said, "Our customers have told us that they would love to have HTML-like declarative layout of complicated Windows Forms user interfaces. While use of the Internet Explorer (IE) display engine is possible for the creation of a declarative UI, it is, and will remain, a rather limited solution even with the Whidbey release of Visual Studio.NET. There are simply too many factors to take into consideration when hosting IE even for basic display. Display elements created within IE are not Windows Forms elements, and interaction with them is minimal at best. With Essential HTMLUI we have implemented a completely managed, declarative UI solution that is simple to use, extensible, and prepares our customers for the Longhorn release of Windows in a seamless manner."

Existing products have been updated with several key new features. There are major enhancements to the powerful grouping engine in Essential Grouping. New and existing products have also been engineered for complete ASP.NET support where applicable. Essential Tools, Chart, Diagram, Grouping, ExcelRW, Calculate, and PDF incorporate support for ASP.NET. A web version of Essential Grid is scheduled to be made available in the first quarter of 2005.

Also included is a completely reengineered product, Essential Edit, which provides the best features in its product class. It supports features such as extremely fast scrolling, Visual Studio.NET line outlining, and more.

Essential Suite 3.0 is fully integrated with Microsoft Visual Studio.NET Version 2002/2003 and takes full advantage of its developer-productivity features, providing advanced designers and integrated help. Batch files are also provided to enable building with the Whidbey release of Visual Studio.NET.

Essential Suite is currently priced at $1,295 for the binary version, and $1,595 for the source code version. Each Essential Suite includes a subscription for one full year of unlimited support and all updates. Individual products are also available separately.
