Syncfusion is committed to supporting the software development community, and we are glad to see more women joining it every day. On February 16, we will host Hadoop Succinctly, a presentation for the Raleigh-Durham chapter of Girl Develop It.
Girl Develop It is a nonprofit organization that provides affordable programs for adult women interested in learning web and software development in a judgment-free environment.
The presentation will introduce the core concepts behind the Apache Hadoop Platform, including:
· Scalable storage of data using the Hadoop distributed file system (HDFS).
· Processing of stored data using the MapReduce programming model, designed to process data in a parallel, distributed manner.
Presenter Daniel Jebaraj, vice president of Syncfusion, will be using Java and Hadoop on the Windows platform, but the concepts will also apply to platforms like Linux and OS X. He will share small samples that will help attendees get up and running quickly.
Registration for the event is currently full, but visit the event page to be added to the waitlist.
