GridNumericColumn MinValue

I have a numeric grid column formatted as follows, and it's allowing me to enter negative values, and it successfully updates the ItemSource values to negative, despite the fact that I have the MinValue set to 0. I am formatting as currency and formatting based on a chosen culture, not sure if that is causing an issue.
