Honeycomb/Hexbin Chart

I'd like to request a honeycomb chart. This is a chart that can show different colors to illustrate different concepts (e.g. green for ok, red for error status) or a range of colors to show buckets of different volumes. I've seen this presented both in a map-like form (the right image below from HighCharts) or just as a distributed cluster (see the left image from a Dynatrace dashboard sample), but if I could only have one of the two, I'd opt for the latter version. Ideally this is something I can pass an ordered collection to that will then show the elements in a consistent position, support mouseover templates for additional context and let me specify the color scheme for.
