Creating new Asp.Net Core Web App project in vs2022 using sycnfusion template throws creation error

then vs asks if you want to disable the extension or uninstall it

I have tried creating other projects using other syncfusion templates and they all work except for Asp.Net Core Web App

"An exception has been thrown while configuring the project configuration wizard"

I can still create the project manually by installing nuget packages, etc
