Pivot chart does not render without field bind to columns

When the pivottable only has a field bind to rows and values, but not to colums, the pivot chart does not render. This used to work in 18.3.44, but in 18.4.34 this suddenly does not work anymore. 


This issue looks a lot like 

https://www.syncfusion.com/feedback/20524/to-render-pivot-chart-when-empty-columns but in my opinion this not a feature request, but a bug, because this used to work before.
