Syncfusion® Announces Essential Studio® 2015 Volume 3

Research Triangle Park, N.C.—October 20, 2015— Syncfusion®, Inc., the developer solutions company of choice, today announced the release of Essential Studio® 2015 Volume 3. This release introduces a new spreadsheet control for web developers, a 3-D surface chart for desktop developers, and a visual theme composer for both web and desktop. Volume 3 also enhances Syncfusion®'s Universal Windows Platform (UWP) suite with data grid and ribbon controls as well as a PDF Viewer.

"With everything we've added in this release, developers across three major segments—desktop, web, and mobile—have a fuller breadth of tested controls with powerful features," said Daniel Jebaraj, vice present of Syncfusion®. "Because we target enterprise apps, our testing is rigorous, as today's business requirements have become increasingly complex."

For web developers, Volume 3 offers a new spreadsheet control with editing operations similar to Microsoft Excel, and Theme Studio—a tool for creating custom themes—is now available for JavaScript, ASP.NET and ASP.NET MVC. Web developers can use Theme Studio's intuitive interface to visually design color palettes and typography schemes, apply them in real time to sample components, and export themes as CSS files.

Desktop developers will find important enhancements to Syncfusion®'s WPF suite, including a 3-D surface chart that allows data points to be plotted across three axes and a WPF version of Theme Studio.

Mobile developers have two full-featured time-management controls for iOS and Android: a calendar control that allows dates to be selected and viewed by month or year, and a gesture-friendly schedule control to create and manage appointments.

Essential Studio® for UWP contains major updates. A new high-performance data grid ships with all the advanced features expected of a mature data grid control, including exporting to Excel and PDF files. A ribbon control has been added to provide an easily configurable backstage and quick access toolbar.

Essential PDF Viewer has been added to Essential Studio® for UWP, allowing PDFs to be viewed and printed within an app without any dependency on Adobe.

Other updates to Volume 3 include:

  • New vertical charts and radial tree diagrams for ASP.NET and ASP.NET MVC.
  • New features for the WinRT spreadsheet control—conditional formatting, sparkline support, and cell merging.
  • New additions for all Xamarin components: pyramid charts, funnel charts, and exporting to Excel or PDF from the Xamarin data grid control.

This is the third volume release of Essential Studio® this year. The fourth and last release of the year is scheduled for December. Anyone interested in Essential Studio® 2015 Volume 3 can download a free 30-day trial at www.syncfusion.com/downloads.
