What’s New in 2021 Volume 3: File-Format Libraries

We are glad to inform you that Essential Studio® 2021 Volume 3 has been released with many new, useful features and controls. This blog provides an overview of what’s new in our file-format libraries in this 2021 Volume 3 release.

Syncfusion’s file-format libraries are class libraries that allow you to create, read, write, and convert PDF, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files in .NET Framework, .NET Core, ASP.NET Core, UWP, Xamarin, and Flutter applications without the use of Microsoft Office or Adobe Reader.

Let’s see the new updates in the file-format libraries in the 2021 Volume 3 release!

Flutter PDF Library

Rotate existing PDF documents

The Flutter PDF Library now allows you to rotate pages in a PDF document by 0-, 90-, 180-, and 270-degree angles.

.NET PDF Library

The .NET PDF Library delivers the following new features and enhancements in this 2021 Volume 3 release:

Rotate PDF form fields

You can rotate the PDF form fields by setting values to 0-, 90-, 180-, 270 – degree angles using the RotationAngle property.

Track the progress of PDF-to-PDF/A conversion

Now, you can easily track the progress of PDF-to-PDF/A conversion with a new event called PdfAConversionProgress to get the current progress as a percentage.

Arabic text drawing enhancement

We have improved the Arabic text drawing with advanced typography glyphs, which enhances the shaping of Arabic text in a PDF document.

Import and export form data enhancement

We have standardized form data file formats- such as XML, XFDF, and FDF- to be equivalent to Adobe Acrobat. Now, you can import and export form data from different PDF processing libraries and applications.

.NET Word Library

Preserve comments in Word-to-PDF conversion

From the 2021 Volume 3 release onward, the .NET Word Library supports preserving the comments while converting a Word document to PDF format.

.NET PowerPoint Library

Encryption and decryption

The .NET PowerPoint Library now allows encrypting and decrypting a presentation document by using a password in .NET Core and Xamarin platforms.
